The Mario Polka

A neat video of some kid playing the Mario theme song on the accordion. I'm a huge fan of the accordion, my mom used to play it, and I like messing around with it from time to time. This is a different kind of accordion than I'm used to, but it's infinity awesome.

Check out this ridiculously good version of Britney Spears' Toxic by Yael Naim. If you've been living under a rock since January, Yael Naim is the artist who did New Soul, the song used for the macbook air commercials. I don't really have an incredibly strong opinion one way or the other about Britney, but I always liked her version of Toxic. That being said, I definitely think Yael Naim's version is much better.

Not Always Right is Alright

Check out this funny website called notalwaysright.com where real employees submit quotes from customers they've had to deal with at their workplace. Here's a good example:

(I am showing a guinea pig to a middle aged customer in a suit and tie who seems interested in buying it for his kids.)

Customer: "So, they eat special food just for guinea pigs?"

Me: "Yeah, there is a food that we sell that is specially customized to their needs, but you can also feed them rabbit food."

Customer: "A guinea pig is a reptile, right?"

Singin' in the Rain... starring Usher?

Singin' in the Rain is one of my all time favorite movies, and I was a little scared when I saw that usher had redone it.  It's pretty sacred material and how is Usher supposed to even try to top Gene Kelly? But watching it you really see Usher's appreciation for Gene Kelly and Singin' in the Rain from the lack of liberties he takes. He redoes the song, making it his own, but stays completely true to the movie which is actually really cool. Take a look.

Movie(s) of the Week

I just watched this movie minutes ago and my life has been changed. This trailer doesn't do it justice. I've never seen a movie so bleak and full of despair that has such a lasting hopeful impact on me. This might be one of my favorite movies now. I also watched Matchpoint last monday, and I still can't get it out of my head. Please watch at least one of these very soon.

Truck to the Future

Finally, the strong but few Michael J. Fox/Monster Truck fans can give a sigh of relief. This mash-up of a Delorean and a 4X4 Monster Truck was built by computer engineer Rich Weissensel. He's made other Delorean mash-ups including a Delorean convertible, a Delorean hovercraft, and a replica of the Delorean from Back to the Future.

Credit goes to a very old issue of Wired Magazine that had a very cool story about our remix culture. To check out more car mash-ups including a golf cart Hummer and a stretch mini check out this link: Link

Los Esimpsones en Realidad

In a way that can only be described as incredibly terrifying, some sort of spanish variety show has created a live action version of The Simpsons. Prepare to have nightmares...

P.S. SHOUT OUT to my gurl Annie C. I'd just like to tell her GOOD MORNING BELLE!
